Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what PoppyVideo ("we", "the site") collects when you use the service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It's written to be read, not to hide in.
What We Collect
- Account and usage data. Basic technical records needed to run the service: session identifiers, device and browser type, approximate region derived from IP, and how you move through the product (pages visited, features used).
- Preferences. Settings you choose — for example your 18+ age confirmation and interface preferences — stored so we don't have to ask again.
- Support correspondence. If you contact us, we keep the conversation so we can actually help.
Camera and Microphone
Video conversations require camera and microphone access, which your browser requests explicitly before anything turns on. You can deny or revoke that permission at any time in your browser settings. Live video and audio are transmitted to enable the conversation; PoppyVideo does not record your video calls.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage for essentials: keeping you signed in, remembering your age confirmation, and storing interface preferences. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function; others help us understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting product analytics — including Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity — to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example, which pages are visited and where people drop off). Analytics never receive the content of your conversations, your camera or microphone data, or precise location. Analytics tags load only where enabled, and you can block them with standard browser tools or extensions without breaking the service.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't record your video or audio conversations.
- We don't require your real name to use the service.
Retention
We keep account and usage data only as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us via the site's contact channel and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be flagged clearly rather than buried.
